10 Best Places To Buy Cheap Men’s Wedding Rings In Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium
So you’ve spent hundreds or thousands of pounds on an engagement ring – and now you’ve realised that you’ve got to buy a men's wedding ring (sometimes called a men's wedding band) for yourself as well. The good news is that you can get a wedding band very cheap if you want to (as little as £10 if you aren't fussy) but equally, you can spend £100, £200, £500 or more than £1000 on a platinum or gold men's ring if you want to.

Which metal and shape should I choose for a men’s wedding ring/wedding band?
There are various wedding band options for men, ranging from very cheap metals, through to very expensive options. We’ve split them into two categories – expensive and cheap, with some pros and cons for each.
Men's wedding rings usually come as a D shape, court shaped or flat. If you imagine a cross section of the ring, a D shaped ring is a semi circle, a court shape is an oval shape and a flat ring is a rectangle.

Expensive men's wedding band metals:
- 9 carat gold wedding rings – fairly expensive but cheaper than 18 carat (since it contains less gold and more cheaper metals to pad it out). Rough price guide - £50 - £300
- 18 carat gold wedding rings – expensive, quite a soft metal so not great if you have a job that involves hitting your hand with a hammer, tarnishes (discolours) over time but can be replated for about £20-£30 if it bothers you. Usually available in yellow gold or white gold (silver coloured). Rough price guide - £80 - £500
- Platinum wedding rings - very expensive, hard and durable, doesn’t tarnish over time. Rough price guide: £200 - £1000
- Palladium wedding rings – tough, doesn’t tarnish easily, hypoallergenic, light, hard to resize. Rough price guide - £100 - £500
Cheap men's wedding band metals:
- Cobalt wedding rings – cheap, looks like white gold, very tough, can be resized, very light. Rough price guide: Rough price guide: £40 - £100
- Silver wedding rings – cheap, generally mixed with copper to make sterling silver, looks similar to white gold, but costs a fraction of the price, scratches and bends easily. Rough price guide: £15 - £50.
- Titanium wedding rings – cheap, graded by hardness from 1 (soft) to 4 (hard), hypoallergenic, difficult to resize due to hardness, eco-friendlier than some metals. Rough price guide: £10 - £100
- Tungsten wedding rings – perhaps the cheapest wedding bands of all, scratch resistant, can’t be resized, doesn’t tarnish, more likely to break than bend under pressure as slightly brittle so popular with people who have manual jobs, less environmental impact than some metals (gold, platinum and palladium have a bigger environmental impact). Rough price guide: £5 - £50
The 10 cheapest places to buy men’s wedding rings
Here are ten of our favourite online jewellers selling men's wedding rings in the UK. We compared the cost of an 18 carat gold 6mm ring at each retailer, for purposes of price comparison (bear in mind that you will get different weight rings, even if they are the same width, so the price comparison is a bit flawed).
1. Amazon
The range and price on Amazon is hard to beat for men’s wedding rings. Personally, I prefer to buy direct from Amazon, but there are also hundreds of third party ‘marketplace’ jeweller sellers on the site.
When we searched, in 2024, we found Platinum wedding rings ranging from £165 for a 2mm ring through to £827 for a 6mm ring (direct from Amazon)
A ‘Theia’ 18 carat gold wedding ring started at £203 for a 2mm band, rising to £498 for a 6mm band. 9 carat gold wedding rings ranged from £90 for a 2mm ring through to £205 for a 10mm ring.
Amazon also sell the cheaper men’s wedding band options such as Tungsten, Palladium, Cobalt and Titanium. Prices for those start as cheaply as £15, or more like £50 for a ring which is a decent thickness.

2. Argos
In recent years, Argos seems to have expanded its range somewhat, including its jewellery and wedding bands. There are about 15 men's wedding bands on offer, ranging from £90 for a 6mm, 9 carat gold ring, through to £229 for a white gold ring (6mm).
From what I can see, Argos seems to be pretty cheap for men's wedding rings, plus of course they have a high street presence.
Price test: unfortunately, Argos didn't stock a 6mm 18 carat gold ring when we searched, but a 6mm 9 carat gold ring was £90. For purposes of rough comparison, that would work out as £337 for a 6mm 18 carat gold ring.

3. Diamond Heaven
It takes a little while to get familiar with the layout at Diamond Heaven. I found a 9 carat white gold 5mm ring for £540 or £969 for a 6mm option. They also sell palladium, platinum and 18 carat gold.
Diamond Heaven is based in London's Hatton Garden and Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, so you can be confident they know what they are talking about.

4. Purely Diamonds
Despite the name, UK-based Purely Diamonds also sell wedding bands. They do offer fancy wedding bands with diamonds, but most men will go for a plain band. The cheapest men's wedding band I could find was £194 for a lightweight 4mm 9 carat white gold ring, but they also have plenty of other more expensive options including 18 carat white gold, platinum and palladium.

5. eBay
If you're looking for a very cheap wedding ring then buying second hand from eBay is a good option. You can pick up a 9 carat gold plain band for somewhere between £20 and £80 depending on where it came from and how thick the ring is.
The problem of course is that a) some people are superstitious about used jewellery and b) it may not fit and you'll have to pay to get it resized. Getting a ring resized isn't a big problem, but once you've paid for that (about £20 - £30 usually) you won't have saved much money (unlike with second hand engagement rings where you can save hundreds of pounds).
eBay also has lots of new wedding rings too at very competitive prices, although stock changes all the time so it's pointless me giving a recommendation.
Price test: at the time of searching a 6mm 18 carat gold men's wedding band at eBay cost £374.

6. H Samuel
H Samuel is perhaps the best known name in UK jewellery and the chances are there is one of their 300 stores somewhere near you (unless you're reading this from the other side of the world).
As you'd expect, there's a decent range of men's wedding bands at H Samuel with prices ranging from £15 for the cheapest titanium ring around, right through to £1500 for an extra heavyweight 22 carat gold ring or £1400 for a 6mm platinum men's wedding ring.
You will find that H Samuel becomes particularly good value during the sales. Some online sellers have fairly consistent prices, whereas prices at the High Street stores tend to fluctuate more. If you are able to wait, you'll get the best price

7. Ernest Jones
UK high street jeweller Ernest Jones has a very good range of men's wedding rings (about 200 to choose from when I searched in February 2024). Like a lot of UK high street jewellers, there are frequently deals to be had in the sales (Black Friday, Boxing Day sales etc) so if you aren't in a hurry then you are more likely to get a bargain wedding ring (or at least a good deal).
There are some men's wedding under £100 at Ernest Jones, as long as you aren't fussy about which metal it is made from (Cobalt and Titanium are the cheapest at Ernest Jones).
If you are working to a budget of £200 for your wedding ring then you'll be able to afford a 4mm 9 carat ring at Ernest Jones.
If you would prefer platinum then you'll need to spend somewhere between £500 - £2500.

8. Jewellery World
Jewellery World don't sell rings made from very cheap metals such as Tungsten and Cobalt, but they do have a range of gold and platinum men's wedding bands starting from as cheap as £90. Their website is also nice and clear so you won't spend ages searching around.

9. Littlewoods
Back in the day you could pick up a Littlewoods catalogue from your high street and thumb through it looking for men's wedding rings. Nowadays, it is all online so you don't have the convenience of face to face returns but you do still get a buy from a name you've heard of.
Littlewoods has a fairly small range of men's wedding rings (36 when I checked) but in reality, most men choose a plain band for their wedding ring so the only real choices are metal and thickness. Prices range from £50 for a Tungsten ring through to £700 for an 18 carat white gold ring.
Price test: a 5mm 18 carat gold men' wedding ring at Littlewoods cost £774 (6mm wasn't available).

10. Diamonds Factory
Diamonds Factory is another one which mostly specialises in engagement rings but also has a decent range of men's wedding bands at decent prices.
When I searched, in February 2024, prices for a 6mm ring ranged from £300 for a 9 carat white gold carat ring through to just under £1000 for a platinum ring (if you just want 4mm then it was nearer to £200 for Diamond Factory's cheapest ring)

11. The Jewel Hut
There's a small selection of about 100 men's rings at The Jewel Hut, ranging from plain silver wedding rings for as little as £20, through to platinum bands for just under £2000.
There are plenty of options in the middle obviously, with reasonably priced 9 carat rings.

12. Beaverbrooks
Beaverbrooks is perhaps the most luxurious of the high street jewellers in the UK. Their engagement rings tend to be higher priced and higher quality than some of the other jewellers in the British marketplace, so it isn't a surprise that some of their wedding rings are similarly expensive (up to £3500 for a platinum wedding ring).
However, there are some more affordable rings on offer for those on a budget, such as titanium wedding rings for around £50 and silver wedding bands for £100.
Price test: an 18 carat gold 6mm men's wedding ring costs £1450 from Beaverbrooks

13. F Hinds
F Hinds is another big UK high street Jeweller, but they target the cheaper end of the men's wedding ring market. There's a range of about 70 men's wedding rings to choose from, which in my view is preferable to having hundreds or thousands of rings to trawl through.
Rings are available in 9ct gold and palladium (no sign of platinum or 18 carat gold or any of the cheaper metals such as Cobalt as far as I can see).
Prices range from a very reasonable £115 for a 6mm ring made from 9 carat gold up to £400 for a similar ring, but with more gold (i.e. a 'heavyweight' men's ring).
Price test: F Hinds didn't have any 18 carat gold men's wedding rings so we can't include them in our comparison, although they did have 9 carat rings for just over £100.
