Finding an engagement ring for under 200 pounds is relatively easy nowadays (thanks largely to the world wide web) but you will need to compromise on quality, or buy second hand. It is only a fraction of the average diamond engagement ring price, but you can still get something with a nice sparkle to impress your future wife.

Buying second hand cheap engagement rings under £200
‘Used’ is such an unpleasant word to describe the ‘preloved’ market. After all, you wouldn't call Kate Middleton’s/The Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement ring ‘used’ just because Princess Diana once wore it.
If you’re willing to buy second hand, you should be able to pick up an engagement ring that retails new at somewhere between £500 - £1000 pounds for under £200. Diamond engagement rings lose value at a terrifying rate (until they become ‘vintage’ at which point the value picks up again) so there are bargains to be had.
On eBay you could expect to get a reasonable quality diamond engagement ring which retails for £500 pounds to £1000 pounds for under £200 pounds. For that money, you could get a second hand white gold engagement ring with a weight of between 0.25 carat (1/4) and 0.5 carat (1/2 carat) carat for under £200. My advice would be to look for one with a certificate which includes its grading so that you know what you are getting.

Another popular option is to break with tradition and choose an engagement ring which isn’t a diamond. This could either be an alternative precious gemstone or a faux diamond which still has a nice sparkle but isn’t as expensive as the real thing.
