Alternatives to a solitaire setting diamond engagement ring

Most of the price comparisons we've done on this site (1 carat, 2 carat etc) have been comparing solitaire diamond engagement rings, simply because it's one of the most popular settings.

Pretty much every jeweller will offer at least one solitaire setting, so it's ideal for doing a fair comparison.

​My general advice is that if you are looking for a 'classic' style of diamond ring and don't want to take any risks then solitaire is likely to do the job. 

However, it's worth noting that there are loads of other options for diamond ring shoppers looking for something a bit different.
